About Me

My
Story

My name is Angeles Martinez, and I am currently working on my major, Television and film production. As a 21-year-old college student, I have had a chance to work on a couple of student films. Through these student films, I have got to explore many roles within the film. To name a couple: Director, cinematographer, and editor.

My love for film started at a very young age. My horror films shaped me into the person that I am today. Horror is my top genre in films. My family loves horror films, and while growing up, they would take me to theaters to watch the latest release of films like Insidious, Drag Me to Hell, The Conjuring, and many more. Back in the day when we would rent movies instead of streaming them on the web, I would often check out films such as Chucky, Pet Sematary, The Shining, and It. It was strange for a child to be so interested in horror films, or so I was told, but to me, I was immersed into these worlds that the filmmakers created. It wasn't until I watched the behind-the-scenes for these movies that I truly understood the hard work put into them. I became more appreciated and immersed in figuring out how films are made.

I was around the age of 13 when I had an idea of what I wanted to do in the film world. My parents bought me my camera at the age of 14, and I started experimenting with it. I was scared to film anything as I didn't know what to film, so I used the camera for photography. I began to experiment with shot sizes, textures, and different subjects. While trying to understand my camera, I also got to find my art style in photography. Because of that one camera that was gifted to me at 14, I expanded my art mediums to more than just film.
